Sustainability Story
Royal Consumer Products is leading the charge in sustainability within the paper industry. By aligning forces with Stand For Trees, Royal Consumer Products has fortified its journey toward carbon neutrality, effectively offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions produced by its certificate and certificate cover product line.
How did this come to be? Stand For Trees measured the carbon footprint of 5 of the Royal Consumer Products’ for 2023 starting with the bamboo used to produce the paper and including the trucking, ocean freight, and local consumer shipping in the USA. The carbon emissions associated with these 5 products in 2023 was just under 8 tonnes, but always conservative, Royal Consumer Products chose to double that amount to 15 tonnes. Responding to this metric, they resolved to neutralize this emissions impact by procuring and retiring carbon offsets from our transformative Southern Cardamom project— a sprawling 497,000-hectare nature reserve in Cambodia.
This endeavor has yielded profound environmental benefits. Royal Consumer Products’ impact means preserving over 300 ancient trees from imminent destruction. Additionally, their involvement contributes to securing education, healthcare, jobs, and more for over 16,000 residents involved with the project. Beyond its human and climate benefits, Southern Cardamom is a critical habitat for forest elephants, clouded leopards, sun bears, and an array of other irreplaceable species.
